A native of Hattiesburg, Benjamin Morris is a poet, fiction writer and essayist whose work appears in such places as The Oxford American, The Edinburgh Review, and The New Orleans Review. A researcher with the Open University (U.K.), he is the recipient of a MAC poetry fellowship and a residency from A Studio in the Woods in New Orleans. His most recent book is “Hattiesburg, Mississippi: A History of the Hub City,” published by the History Press in 2014. He offers readings of his work and lectures on topics of local history and literature, as well as writing workshops in poetry, fiction and nonfiction to all ages and audiences.
