The “BACK STAGE PASS” Festival and Event Coordinators Conference is a symposium that will focus on all planning aspects for festivals and special events through the sharing of ideas and like experiences with fundraisers and event planners throughout the Southeast. Back Stage Pass is a new collaboration among the Mississippi Arts Commission, Mississippi Main Street Association, and the Mississippi Development Authority. For the first time, the three statewide organizations will be partnering to present one high-quality festival and event coordinators’ program. Please join us at the Hollywood Resort, in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, on January 24-25, for fun, camaraderie and learning, as we explore ways to develop and enhance events that build community character and contribute to the creative economy and community members’ quality of life.

Earlybird registration is $75 (until January 15) and includes breakfast, lunch and two snacks. Registration will be $100 after January 15, and ends January 20. Register by emailing: denisehalbach@msmainstreet.com. Payments are accepted via check, PayPal or at the door.

Back Stage Pass will offer national speakers and concurrent educational sessions that enhance the participants’ ability to develop as event planners.  The event will also feature an Artist Showcase, presenting many of the artists, musicians and storytellers listed on the Mississippi Arts Commission’s Artist Roster.

The Conference has three main objectives, 1) Address the needs and concerns of those mounting festivals and fundraising event in the Southeast. 2) Give the conference participants the tools to develop their events and promotions to be the best they can be.  3) Offer a quality conference where participants will have fun while taking home implementable ideas and suggestions to utilize in their own events.  For more information including a link to the event program, visit MAC’s website at www.arts.state.ms.us.
