MAC to host a series of grantwriting workshops for MS artists and arts organizations

Jackson -The Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) will host a series of grant writing workshops around the state, targeting Mississippi-based artists and arts organizations. The workshops will run from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at each location. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, January 12, 2010             Waynesboro Public Library, Waynesboro

Tuesday, January 19, 2010             Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Natchez

Tuesday, January 26, 2010             Hernando Public Library, Hernando

Tuesday, February 2, 2010              Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center, Ocean Springs

Thursday, February 4, 2010             Flowood Public Library, Flowood

Date & Site TBD                            Grenada

At each workshop, MAC staff will present an overview of the agency’s grant programs and other services. This will be followed by an in-depth discussion on how to prepare an application for the agency’s upcoming annual grant deadline on March 1st.  First-time applicants are especially encouraged to attend.

The Mississippi Arts Commission is a state agency, funded by the Mississippi Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Phil Hardin Foundation, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi Foundation, the Mississippi Endowment for the Arts at the Community Foundation of Greater Jackson and other private sources.  MAC is the official grants-making and service agency for the arts in Mississippi. The agency serves as an active supporter and promoter of arts in community life and in arts education.
