Mississippi Arts Commission to host Grant Writing Workshop for Gulf Coast Artists and Arts Organizations

Jackson, MS-The Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) will be hosting a grant writing workshop for Gulf Coast artists and arts organizations on Wednesday, June 7 and Thursday, June 8, 2006.  Professional grant writers secured through the Mississippi Center for Non-Profits will serve as instructors for the workshops. 

Artists and organizations will receive instruction on general grant writing.  Instructors will use the Mississippi Arts Commission upcoming Business Recovery grant application form as a model. 

Workshops will be held at the Gulf Coast Business Technology Center in Biloxi and at St. Stanislaus College Prep in Bay St. Louis from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.  Those interested in attending do not need to pre-register, but appointments are available for those with a limited time schedule.  For more information on the workshops, contact Lisa Dean at 601/968-0061.

The Mississippi Arts Commission is a state agency, funded by the Mississippi Legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Wallace Foundation and other private sources.  MAC is the official grants making and service agency for the arts in Mississippi. The agency serves as an active supporter and promoter of arts in community life and in arts education.
