Jackson - The Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) is proud to present a weekly radio program, "The Mississippi Arts Hour" on WLEZ-FM 103.7, every Thursday at 5:00 pm. The Commission's Executive Director, Malcolm White, serves as host for the show and Heritage Director, Larry Morrisey serves as guest host.
The show proudly features Mississippi artists and has included guests such as painter Wyatt Waters and Robert St. John, author and restaurateur. Highlights have also included readings from poet Aleda Shirley with storyteller Diane Williams, and an interview with Bill Ellison of the bluegrass band, the Vernon Brothers. Local fiddler, Tim Avalon has been a guest and one recent scho featured the history of blues in Jackson that included a pre-recorded interview with Scott Barretta, an Oxford-based blues scholar.

The Mississippi Arts Commission is a state agency, established by the Mississippi Legislature in 1968. Its mission is to be the catalyst for the arts in Mississippi. The Agency upholds this mission through grant programs, professional development opportunities and other services to schools, communities, arts organizations and individual artists across the state. The Commission is funded by the Mississippi legislature, the National Endowment for the Arts, The Wallace Foundation and other private sources.
