Mississippi Arts Commission: Who We Are

Allison Winstead

Ballerina, gallery director, arts administrator, and dance instructor are just a few of the titles Allison Winstead held before joining the Mississippi Arts Commission as Arts-Based Community Development Director. After completing her studies in international economics and art history while dancing professionally, Allison jumped into the world of arts administration. For most of the past 15 years Allison has worked with both performing and visual artists in a myriad of capacities. She spent the last two years working for Blackbaud, a software manufacturer for the non-profit community, as a business analyst and corporate trainer. Allison recently moved back to Mississippi to raise her son, Nicholas, around family, friends, and all good things Southern.
