Beverly Herring

Beverly Herring was born and raised in Hazlehurst.  She received her BA from the University of Mississippi and her Masters of Library Science from Emory University.  She was head of acquisitions at the Mississippi Library Commission from 1968 - 1973 and was Director of the Madison County Library System from 1973-2002.  She is married to Jim Herring, an attorney in Canton.  They have 3 children: James, Caroline and Christie and 6 grandchildren.

Beverly retired from library work in 2002 and now spends her time as a volunteer in several organizations; she spends her free time quilting and doing genealogical research.  She is a board member of the Mississippi Genealogical Society, is a member of several patriotic organizations and several quilt associations.
