Mississippi Arts Commission: Who We Are

Shirley Smith  

Shirley joined the Mississippi Arts Commission in 1992 serving as the Executive Secretary.  In 1999 she moved to the position of Systems Administrator where she presently maintains the Commission’s computer network, manages the grants database, and maintains a filing system of all grant applicants.

Shirley has worked in state government 21 years beginning her service with the Mississippi Department of Transportation in 1986.  She later moved to the Department of Human Services, Office for Children and Youth serving two years as Secretary Administrative before coming to the Mississippi Arts Commission.
